Do you have all the staff you need to efficiently run your coffee shop or drive thru? Do you have a great morning person who is a “bright spot” in the day of your customers going to work? Do you have an afternoon person who will clean during the slow time and cheerfully make drinks?
Generation Y wants more flexibility in the workplace. The coffee business is a great place to offer flexible hours.
Employees want to feel well-trained and knowledgeable. Be sure your training program is current, complete, and on-going.
Recognition for Employee of the Month, MVP, Best New Drink, Never Missed a Day, Miss/Mr Congeniality, and other opportunities to show your appreciation for a job well-done.
Promote giving back to your community by recognizing volunteers or start a donation program from your business and/or the employees. This could be an annual event such as “adopt a family” for the holidays, Red Cross, Food Bank, schools, Veterans, churches or other non-profit organizations. We all love to help others! :-)
